Curriculum Music
Music
Our basic aim is that all children will have access to music in its various forms. As part of the National Curriculum music
has an important role. The children have experience in singing, composing, pitch and rhythm and are given opportunities
to play a variety of percussion instruments, chime bars etc. There are opportunities to learn recorder in school and small
groups of children can have tuition in a variety of instruments from a team of peripatetic teachers. Children on Free Meals
have a subsidised rate.
Listening to a variety of music is also important and we hope to extend children?s knowledge of composers and different
kinds of music.
We take part in many musical activities including Early Years and Upper Years Singing Festivals, Recorder Festival and Dance Festival.
