Homework Policy

                                                        Homework Policy

Homework should be part of the liaison between home and school.

It should not take up too much of a child's time, leaving them free to spend time at home in pursuit of hobbies , Cubs, Brownies, Scouts, Guides etc.

In the Early Years we hope to have reading partnerships between parents and children where the parent and child read a book together.  This is usually about ten to fifteen minutes per night.

In the Middle School children might be given work to prepare for finish at home or more formal homework once or twice a week.  (no more than thirty minutes).

The Upper Years children will be given homework two or three times a week as part of the preparations for transfer to Secondary School.  This will be at the discretion of the class teacher.
